We're looking for passionate, safety-driven technicians who want to grow their skills, work on diverse equipment, and be part of a team where your ideas and input matter.
What You'll Do:
Perform preventative maintenance and diagnostics on generators (1kW–2MW), electric motors, welder systems, and rotating equipment.
Complete repairs, teardowns, and rebuilds in our shop or on-site
Support predictive maintenance using tools like thermal imaging, ultrasound, and vibration analysis
Keep detailed reports using our CMMS software

Onward Power Systems Ltd. is looking for not only someone who is already on this career path, but also someone who wants to learn a specialized trade and build a long-term career in the power systems industry. This is a great opportunity for someone who's mechanically inclined and interested in generator systems and gaining their EGSA certification. No certification required to start — we provide training. Wage increases as training and certification are completed. EGSA certification training provided. We're looking for someone who is: Willing to learn and grow, Reliable and safety-focused, Mechanically inclined (experience is an asset, not required)
or Red Seal Journeyman Certification in one of the following:
- Heavy Duty Mechanic
- Small Engine Technician
- Automotive Service Technician
- Electrical Technician (Industrial or Construction)
Millwright/Machinist (strong asset)
Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
Experience with generator systems, electric motors, or industrial equipment considered an asset
Valid Class 5 Driver's License (Class 1 or 3 is an asset)
Valid Safety Certifications, including but not limited to:
H2S Alive
- WHMIS 2015
- TDG (Transportation of Dangerous Goods)
Standard First Aid – Level C with CPR & AED (Alberta and BC approved)
Ability to work alone or in teams and comply with remote work safety protocols
Must be able to pass onsite and pre-employment drug testing
Safety-first mindset and familiarity with OH&S standards
Must be comfortable traveling throughout Alberta/BC and occasionally into the Territories
We Will Train You On:
OEM Generator Systems (Cummins, Generac, etc.)
Site-specific load testing, CSA C282-19 compliance
Company CMMS, diagnostic tools, and predictive maintenance protocols
