Job Overview

We are recruiting a skilled and safety-conscious Logging Equipment Operators to operate specialized forestry machinery, including bunchers, skidders, and processors to process trees for timber production. The ideal candidate will have experience working in similar environments, a strong understanding of logging procedures and mine sites, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team under varying weather and terrain conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Operate a feller buncher to cut trees
  • Ensure safe and precise tree felling
  • Maintain proper equipment function through daily inspections and routine maintenance.
  • Use a skidder to drag felled trees or logs from the felling site to the landing or processing area.
  • Safely navigate steep, uneven terrain while minimizing environmental impact.
  • Assist with loading logs when required.
  • Operate a log processor to delimb, cut to length, and sort logs as per specifications.
  • Perform equipment checks and clean filters, blades, and hydraulic components regularly.
  • Follow all health and safety procedures and hazard assessments.
  • Report any mechanical issues or safety concerns immediately

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience operating logging equipment (buncher, skidder, processor).
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Familiarity with GPS systems and mine sites
  • Experience of heavy equipment with vibration and noise exposure
  • Must pass pre-employment alcohol and drug test including cannabis
