Residential Maintenance Technician

Location: Prince Rupert, BC

Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Wage: $22.00–$25.00 per hour

On-Call Rotation: Every 3rd week

Please Note: This position is based at our Prince Rupert, BC property. Preference will be given to candidates located in the area. Candidates willing to commute or relocate are encouraged to apply.

Position Summary

The Residential Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing general maintenance and repairs across residential apartment buildings. This role includes work in plumbing, painting, carpentry, flooring, drywall, and appliance repair, both indoors and outdoors. The successful candidate will deliver professional, timely, and high-quality service to residents while maintaining Macro Properties' safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of experience in residential or building maintenance
  • Industry experience considered an asset
  • Experience with:
  • Painting, plaster, and drywall
  • Basic plumbing (P-traps, faucet systems, toilet repairs)
  • Flooring (laminate and vinyl)
  • Carpentry and minor renovations
  • Available for after-hours maintenance and emergency calls
  • Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle
  • Clear criminal background check

Skills & Abilities

  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team
  • Effective communication skills
  • Comfortable working in various weather conditions (-10°C to +30°C)

General Maintenance

Flooring – Able to Install:

  • Vinyl Flooring
  • Laminate flooring
  • Baseboards
  • Linoleum

Drywall

  • Repair Drywall
  • Install new drywall
  • Mudding and taping
  • 100% able to paint drywall

Able to install:

  • Tubs
  • Tub surrounds
  • Bathroom fixtures such as: faucets, toilets, basic plumbing, bathroom vanities
  • Kitchen cabinets is a major asset

Electrical: Maintain and repair:

  • Electrical appliances
  • Electrical outlets
  • Fixtures

Additional duties:

  • Responsible for snow and ice removal and salting sidewalks
  • Responsible for lawn mowing
  • On call every 3rd week

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
