Job Summary:

We are seeking a Canadian trained and experienced, skilled and motivated level 2 certified dental assistant with surgical experience to join our dental specialty clinic. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a crucial role in assisting the specialist during various dental procedures and providing exceptional patient care. If you have a passion for dentistry and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, we would love to hear from you.

Responsibilities:

- Prepare treatment rooms for dental procedures by ensuring all necessary instruments and supplies are sterilized and organized

  • Surgical experience is a must
  • Assist the specialist during dental procedures by handing them instruments, suctioning, and providing support as needed
  • Take and develop dental x-rays as instructed by the specialist
  • Perform basic laboratory duties such as pouring and trimming models, fabricating temporary crowns, and taking impressions
  • Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and provide post-operative instructions
  • Maintain accurate patient records and update medical histories as necessary
  • Schedule patient appointments and manage the dental office's appointment calendar
  • Assist with front desk duties such as answering phone calls, greeting patients, and handling administrative tasks

Skills:

- Experience in prosthodontic and surgical procedures an asset

  • Surgical procedures experience is a must
  • Experience with digital charting
  • Strong knowledge of dental assisting techniques and procedures
  • Familiarity with dental practice management software
  • Knowledge of medical terminology related to dentistry
  • Minimum 5 years experience required

  • Applicant must be a Canadian citizen
