Truck Driver

BAT Construction Ltd. is a Canadian leader in Slope Stabilization and Geotechnical Construction, and we are expanding to meet the growing demand for our expert services. We are currently hiring an experienced Class 1 Driver / Class 3 Driver with airbrakes endorsement for our Highland Valley Copper (HVC) project.

This position requires strong leadership and judgment as well as an exceptional ability to organize, plan, and anticipate potential adversity. The ideal candidate will have a good driving abstract and significant experience. Applicants with a thorough understanding of heavy equipment operation, ground support, or heavy-duty mechanics may be given preference.

As a Class 1 Driver, you will be part of a dynamic team that works on industrial and geotechnical projects, where you'll be responsible for hauling and operating equipment in diverse environments.

This role requires technical expertise, a strong commitment to safety, and the ability to work in challenging conditions. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in transportation logistics.

You will be expected to uphold BAT Construction's core values and contribute to the success of each project by ensuring work is completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest quality standards.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Class 1 driver's license or Class 3 with airbrakes endorsement
• Reliable transportation to get to/from work
• Willingness to work out of town when required
• Experienced working around construction and/or heavy equipment
• Drilling, mining, or oilfield experience
• Ability to work unsupervised
• Good communication skills
• Able to work independently or with others
• Well organized
• Takes workplace safety seriously and believes in a safe work culture
• CSTS or site ready BC
• Ability to lift 50lbs
• Ability to wear a respirator
• Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment and clean, lubricate and refuel equipment.
• Update daily logs.
• Report mechanical deficiencies and maintenance required to the project supervisor, maintenance department or fleet manager.
• Clear understanding of Load Charts and Equipment capabilities/ capacities.
• Securement and strapping of loads.
• Meet all CVSE and legislative requirements.
• Abide by safe work procedures, safe operations procedures and manufactures operation procedures.
• Develop lift plans and participate in project safety and planning meetings.

AUTHORIZATIONS

• Authorized to perform the duties and responsibilities mentioned above. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Valid Class 1 Driver license or Class 3 Driving license with airbrakes endorsement
• Clean abstract.
• Class B Crane Certification (Minimum). All applicable Safety Certifications.
• 40-ton boom truck experience. (Articulating and Fixed boom).
• TDG
• WHMIS
• CSTS
• Ground Disturbance
