Nova Paving (Sask) Ltd. is a well-established heavy civil construction company based in Regina, Saskatchewan. We are expanding – and looking for an experienced Excavator Operator to join our team and contribute to the ongoing success of the business.

In 2026 we will have several new positions available. If you have an established crew of experienced individuals, we want to hear from you We are offering relocation assistance and temporary housing for people who do not currently live in Regina.

Reporting to the Foreman, this position is responsible for operating heavy equipment on construction sites in a safe manner. Experience doing fine grade work is ideal with preference given to candidates who are comfortable assisting with Labour work when machines aren't required. Our company operates from May to November each year and we are hiring now to be ready for the 2026 season

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of heavy equipment operating experience.
  • Valid drivers license & reliable transportation.
  • Solid understanding of construction, maintenance techniques, and how to safely use equipment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with ability to perform routine equipment maintenance.
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Heavy Equipment Operator trade certification considered an asset.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Checking equipment before operating to ensure that mechanical, safety and emergency equipment is in good working order.
  • Clean, lubricate and perform other minor maintenance work on site as required.
  • Maneuver heavy equipment into loading or unloading positions, follow signals from crew members as needed, check that vehicle position is correct and any special loading equipment is properly positioned.
  • Perform a large variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labour.
  • Ensure that any debris caused by the loading/unloading of equipment is cleaned up.
  • Operate equipment such as mobile radios and telephones to exchange necessary information to Site Foreman or other operators.
  • Demonstrate continuous efforts to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes and work cooperatively to provide quality customer service.
  • Communicate any unsafe conditions or accidents/injuries in a timely manner to the Site Foreman in order to facilitate prompt correction and reporting.
  • Adhere to workplace safety policies, regulations and compliances.
  • Other duties as required.
