SUMMARY

We are seeking enthusiastic Shipper / Receiver to join the Shipping Team.  This position will be responsible to load and unload materials and deliveries and move them to and from storage areas.   This is a temporary position.

We are also seeking applicants who understand that employees make key contributions to developing a pro-safe work environment.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

May include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Follow all safety rules.
  • Ability to process all relevant Shipping documentation and to fulfill customers' orders according to timelines/deadlines provided.
  • Gain a good understanding of various PVC Pipe and Fittings SKU's with regard to the yard/warehouse locations.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS


•     Experience in Shipping and Receiving, or equivalent, and has
  demonstrated a good working knowledge of safe and efficient truck-loading/off-loading procedures is an asset.

  • Basic knowledge of computers skills.
  • Must have the ability to lift up to 50 Ibs
  • Demonstrated a good working knowledge of safe and efficient truck-loading procedures is an asset.
  • Must have the ability to work staggered shift schedule.
  • Must be able to read and communicate fluently in English language.
  • Must have basic math skills
  • Maintain a valid Manitoba Driver's License and appropriate forklift certification.
  • Must have strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.  The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, push, bend, twist or crouch. 

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate as this position is based in the warehouse and outdoors.  The work is required in the operation of forklifts and other machinery including but not limited to cut-off saws, shrink-wrappers and others which require usage of required PPE including safety glasses, hearing protection, etc.  May also result in exposure to outside elements and may require usage of stairs.
