Chief of Staff
Location: Kanata
Reports to: COO
On-site: 5 days/week
Type: Full-time
Dominion Dynamics is building Canada's first modern defence prime: software-defined, attritable, and sovereign.
We believe tomorrow's military power won't hinge on exquisite platforms, but on the seamless coordination of adaptable, AI-driven capabilities across every domain. We're building that family of systems, fielded with operators, sovereign by design, and accountable to Canada's democratic values.
We move fast, deploy with the CAF, especially in the Arctic, and operate with uncompromising respect for Canadian law, treaty obligations, and the CAF community.
Our founding team includes former operators from Anduril, Google, Amazon, and the Canadian Armed Forces. We're building hard tech in hard places, and we're looking for system-level thinkers who thrive at the intersection of autonomy, aerospace, and national security.
Why This Role MattersAs Dominion Dynamics scales, leadership leverage becomes critical. The Chief of Staff is a force multiplier for the executive team ensuring priorities are clear, execution stays tight, and the organization moves forward without friction.
This role sits at the center of the company, connecting strategy to execution. You'll help leaders focus on the highest-impact work while you drive follow-through, solve problems, and keep the business operating smoothly. If things are getting done, aligned, and moving fast, you're doing your job well.
The Role: Chief of StaffThis is a high-trust, high-ownership role for someone who thrives in fast-moving startup environments. You'll be the right hand to the CEO and COO, anticipating needs, driving initiatives forward, unblocking issues, and stepping in wherever required.
No two days will look the same. You might be running leadership meetings, coordinating cross-functional work, tightening internal operations, supporting the office, or handling an urgent problem that just landed. You'll need to be comfortable with ambiguity, able to operate with little direction, and motivated by making the entire organization more effective.
This is an on-site role based out of our Kanata office and is critical to how Dominion Dynamics operates day to day.
What You'll DoAct as a trusted right hand to the executive leadership, supporting priorities, decision-making, and execution
Drive follow-through on strategic and operational initiatives across the company
Coordinate leadership meetings, agendas, notes, and action items
Keep leadership aligned by tracking priorities, deadlines, and dependencies
Identify problems early and either solve them directly or bring the right people together
Support day-to-day office and operational needs as required
Improve internal processes, documentation, and systems as the company scales
Help prepare decks, updates, and internal communications for leadership and stakeholders
Step into "whatever needs doing" moments to keep the business moving
Be a connective tissue across teams, ensuring clarity, accountability, and momentum
Proven experience working closely with C-suite leaders (CEO, COO, or equivalent), supporting decision-making and execution
Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to synthesize complex information clearly and concisely
Technical aptitude and comfort working alongside engineers, product teams, and technical systems
Ability to understand technical concepts well enough to translate between leadership and execution teams
Startup-minded: adaptable, fast-moving, and comfortable operating with limited structure and direction
Highly organized with strong attention to detail and follow-through
Excellent judgment and discretion when handling sensitive information
Proactive and self-directed. You see what needs to be done and take ownership
Strong problem-solving skills with a bias toward action
Comfortable being on-site and deeply embedded in the day-to-day operations of the
business
At Dominion Dynamics, we're designing systems that work where others fail, in the most extreme environments on Earth.
At Dominion Dynamics you'll:
Shape the future of Canada's sovereign defence.
Build real capability in fields with CAF and allies.
Move fast, field fast with small teams, high trust, and rapid iteration.
Operate with integrity under Canadian law and treaty obligations.
Have impact from day one with equity, responsibility, and direct access to leadership.
If you're driven by innovation, adaptability, and the opportunity to make a strategic impact, this is where you belong
We use AI tools to support parts of the hiring process, including screening and reviewing responses. Final hiring decisions are always made by people and follow all applicable privacy and employment laws in Canada.
