Psychology Intern

Position Overview
We are looking for a motivated Psychology Intern to join our clinical team and develop core clinical competencies under structured professional supervision, in accordance with the Ordre des psychologues du Québec (OPQ) requirements for practicum and internship placements.
The intern will provide psychological services strictly within the limits of what is authorized for trainees, and always under the supervision of a licensed psychologist recognized by the OPQ.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct clinical interviews, intake assessments, and structured evaluations under the supervisor's guidance.
- Provide psychological interventions (e.g., CBT, supportive therapy, evidence-based techniques) appropriate to training level and supervisor approval.
- Maintain accurate and confidential clinical documentation, following OPQ regulations and clinic policies.
- Participate in weekly individual supervision and case discussions with the supervising psychologist.
- Support treatment planning, progress monitoring, and clinical decision-making in collaboration with the supervisor.
- Respect the ethical, multicultural, and legal standards established by the OPQ, including informed consent, confidentiality, professional boundaries, and scope of practice.
- Participate in training activities, clinical team meetings, and professional development offered by the clinic.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a Master's or Doctoral program in Clinical Psychology recognized in Québec, or completing an equivalency accepted by the OPQ.
- Eligibility for a practicum or clinical internship as defined by the university program and OPQ requirements.
- Ability to work in a multicultural and multilingual environment.
- Strong commitment to professional ethics, confidentiality, and client-centered care.
- Bilingualism (French/English) is an asset.
Supervision
- Supervision is provided by a licensed psychologist (member of the OPQ) who meets all OPQ requirements to supervise interns.
- The intern must comply with the supervisor's instructions, limitations, and approval for all clinical acts.
- The intern may not perform any psychological act that exceeds what is authorized by the OPQ or by the university program.
