Bruyère Health Élisabeth-Bruyère Long – Term Care is a 69 bed Long-Term Care (LTC) home situated within Bruyère Health Élisabeth-Bruyère Hospital. We are a designated francophone organization and are proud to serve clients in both official languages. We value our employees and their professional development. What would my role be?
Reporting to the Supervisor, Therapeutic Recreation Services, you will work in collaboration with the Therapeutic Recreation Services team, to facilitate therapeutic and social activities to meet the recreation-related needs of the residents participating within the Long-Term Care home.
You will assist residents to and from activities, facilitate individual engagement and participation in programs, and assist with residents who would benefit from social interaction and stimulation.
How do I qualify?
Required:
- Completion of High School Diploma
- Minimum of three (3) months of experience working or volunteering with older adults in a healthcare setting, Long-Term Care preferred
- Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) Level C certificate
Preferred:
- Pursuing post-secondary education
- Experience working with individuals living with dementia
- Valid driver's license , class G1 (Ontario)
- Fluent in French and English

- Ability to work autonomously and to work as a member of the team actively and effectively.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including superior ability to connect with individuals living with dementia.
- Ability to effectively communicate in both official languages (oral and written).
- Flexibility, adaptability, and innovation in practice in a continuously changing environment.
- Strong focus on residents, their experience and quality of life.
- Basic computer skills.
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology.
