The Department of Laboratory Medicine is seeking an experienced candidate to join its leadership team in the Core Laboratory. The ideal candidate should have a very strong background in Chemistry, and work experience in the Core Lab comprising the divisions of Chemistry, Hematology and Blood Bank.

Qualifications Include

  • CMLTO Registration required
  • ART certification with CSMLS Registration is a definite asset
  • Minimum of 10 years experience with at least 3 years in a supervisory position in Chemistry Department
  • Excellent communication and inter-personal skills coupled with the ability to teach and motivate rotating technologists.
  • Experienced in all aspects of Chemistry including Routine Chemistry, Immunochemistry and Point-of-care
  • Proven ability to develop and introduce new methodologies.
  • Experienced in method/reagent evaluation and instrument selection.
  • Troubleshoots equipment and responds to technical issues.
  • Establishes QC and preventive maintenance programs
  • Familiarity with computer databases and laboratory information systems.
  • Good attendance record
