We are currently recruiting for one highly-motivated individual to join our team as a Heavy Equipment Operator, based out of Calgary Alberta, to assist in the installation of shallow utilities (power, gas, communications) in new residential subdivision developments.
Responsibilities for this position include:
- Operating heavy equipment safely and efficiently.
- Heavy Equipment operation will primarily be on trackhoe excavators.
- Performing daily safety and maintenance checks.
- Complete routine fueling and maintenance.
- Practicing workplace safety.
- Ensuring heavy equipment is safely and securely stored.
- Advising the Supervisor of any requirements for maintenance or repair.
- Assisting qualified utility workers as required.
Requirements / Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience operating excavation equipment. The majority of this role will be trenching.
- Effective verbal and listening communication skills.
- Ability to understand and effectively execute verbal and written directions.
- Adheres to company Health, Safety, & Environmental reporting and standard assessments.
- Must possess a valid class 5 driver's license (class 1 or 3 is an asset).
- Ability to interpret survey staking and construction drawings is an asset.
- Knowledge in basic repairs considered an asset.
- Safety conscious.
- Detail orientated.
- Good organization and communication skills.
- Must be living in Calgary area or willing to relocate prior to starting position.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $34.00-$40.00 per hour
