We are currently looking for a Operations Superintendent within our Finishing & Shipping Department at Irving Paper.
Responsibilities- Actively manage the performance of your direct reports.
- Administer the collective agreement while maintaining respectful relationships with unionized employees.
- Maintain a strong focus on quality.
- Ensure Health, Safety and Environmental compliance within the department.
- Collaborate with Maintenance in scheduling asset downtime to optimize equipment efficiency.
- Develop short term and long term strategies to improve efficiencies and safety.
- Participate in the development of Codes of Practice, Standard Operating Procedures, Regulatory Training and Job Training for your department.
- Experience in Manufacturing Logistics and Shipping.
- Bachelor 's Degree or 2 year completed diploma in a related field.
- Proven track record in performance and results.
- Industry related experience is an asset.
- Familiar with computerized operations and administrative systems.
- Shift experience working in a 24/7 operation.
- Previous leadership experience as front-line supervisor. Ideally in a manufacturing, operations or transportation environment
