The Mule is the famous member of Hamilton's Other Bird restaurant group that gives you your three favourite things: Tacos, Cocktails, and Vibes. Our passionate chefs love to prepare food that pushes boundaries and could pull you outside of your comfort zone — just a little bit. We get tremendous joy from making your mouth happy. We can't wait to bring our talents to The Mule Cambridge and to have you as a part of it.

The Job:

We are looking for a few new support staff members to join our team. What is a support staff member you ask? You would wear a couple of hats including, host, food runner, busser, bar back and you would be responsible for:

  • Being passionate about delivering the best experience through attentive and friendly service
  • Greeting all guests as they walk through the restaurant
  • Managing and prioritizing the restaurant waitlist, and ensure the front door is manned effectively
  • Answering any incoming phone calls and politely answer any questions to the best of your ability
  • Following all company safety and sanitation policies and procedures
  • Responsible for cleanliness and stocking of service areas throughout the shift
  • Emptying trash and spot sweeps whenever floor needs it
  • Performing opening and closing responsibilities in a timely and detailed manner
  • Ensuring all food is properly presented prior to running it out to a guest
  • Delivering food to tables and ensures guests have all they need
  • Bussing and resetting tables with a sense of urgency
  • Offering assistance to guests by clearing away dishes, glassware, and refilling beverages if needed
  • Contributing to a friendly & cooperative work environment by assisting all other team members as needed
  • Receiving direction from The Mule's Management team.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Smartserve Certification is required.
  • Evening & Weekend work availability is required
  • Front-of-House restaurant experience, specifically in hosting, food-running or bar-backing will be an asset.
