Position Overview:
Finning Canada is looking for passionate and experienced Journeyperson Heavy Duty Mechanics (Red Seal preferred) to join our team dedicated to servicing our customers in Golden and surrounding area on a 7x7 Shift. You will be responsible for troubleshooting, repairs, maintenance and diagnostics of a variety of Caterpillar equipment.

Job Description:
Major Job Functions

  • Troubleshooting and repairing Caterpillar and other mechanical equipment in a service oriented gas compression environment
  • Interface with customers, products and sales support
  • Providing support with reference to on-site safety requirements
  • Maintain Finning Customer Service Commitment
  • Various related duties as required

**Candidate selection will be in compliance with the terms of the current Collective Agreement**

Specific Skills & Experience

  • Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician certification (Red Seal is an asset)
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience repairing CAT equipment
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Completion, or in the process of completing all Finning S- level courses
  • Self-motivated and computer literate
  • Experience with Costwatcher, DBS, SIS and Warranty Systems as well as a good understanding of Finning systems, would all be assets
  • Successful candidate will need to be customer orientated and motivated to meet the customer's expectations
  • Ability to work safely with minimal supervision

Important Details

  • This position will work a 7x7 Shift
  • A recent driver's abstract is required
  • Please be advised, the successful candidate for this position will reside in (or around) Golden.
  • Note: Any future shift changes that may occur will be made in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Collective Agreement.
  • Union Membership: You are required to become a member of the Union associated with this position. This will be effective immediately and will result in union dues being deducted from your pay. The terms and conditions of your employment will be governed by the collective agreement.
