Tourmaline Oil Corp. is a Canadian senior crude oil and natural gas exploration and production company focused on long-term growth through an active exploration, development, production and acquisition program in the western Canadian sedimentary basin.

Tourmaline Oil Corp. is currently seeking a Facilities Construction Engineer in Training. This position will be responsible for working with project managers to plan and execute projects. This position is based in Tourmaline's Calgary office with expected field time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain a professional relationship with Tourmaline contractors and staff ensuring alignment with the Tourmaline Code of Conduct, ensuring no conflict of interest is present in the relationship.
  • Update, create and maintain project data in internal systems (project inventory, AFE, regulatory and reporting)
  • Manage Project Kickoff and review documentation for accuracy. This includes but not limited to:
  • Surveys & plot plans
  • Environmental and Archeology reports
  • Surface Land & C&N letters
  • FN Pre-consultation assistance where applicable
  • Review EPC's documentation for accuracy with support of Project Manager
  • Review DBM's, IFA, IFC, as-built drawings
  • Review QA / QC packages
  • Final construction package documentation
  • Manage Regulatory requirements with support of Project Manager
  • Planning, executing and closing out Facilities Construction projects
  • Organizing construction schedules and planning procurement for upcoming projects
  • Managing execution including cost, schedule and safety
  • Complete project closeout documentation package and lessons learned / project lookbacks
  • Work with all of Tourmalines multidisciplinary teams, including subsurface, D&C, planning on future project development

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in Engineering with a EIT designation
  • Summer or internship industry experience in facilities or production operations role would be beneficial
  • Excellent communication skills including listening, verbal and written
  • Adaptable and able to work within deadlines, works well under pressure
  • Ability to maintain a confidential and secure environment
  • Proactive and self-motivated
