POSITION OVERVIEW

As a Bricks 4 Kidz Instructor, you will lead exciting, interactive STEAM-based programs using LEGO bricks for children ages 4–12. This is a rewarding opportunity to inspire creativity, spark curiosity, and develop problem-solving skills in a supportive and dynamic setting.

This position is ideal for college or university students or recent graduates studying education, early childhood education, child and youth work, social work, science, technology, or other related fields.

Schedule:

  • Part-time (afternoons/evenings, weekend afternoons)
  • Full days when school is not in session (e.g., December Break, March Break)
  • Possibility of increased hours over time

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead groups of children in fun, educational STEAM-based activities using Bricks 4 Kidz curriculum and lesson plans
  • Create a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment
  • Use effective strategies to manage group behavior and encourage participation
  • Maintain and organize program materials, ensuring minimal loss or damage
  • Follow cleaning and safety procedures
  • Perform setup and cleanup duties
  • Attend paid training sessions (provided by Bricks 4 Kidz Hamilton)

  • Adaptable and comfortable in dynamic situations
  • Comfortable using technology (tablets, laptops, robotics kits, coding, etc.)
  • Responsible, proactive, and punctual with strong communication skills
  • Reliable transportation

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience working with or supervising children (camp, classroom, tutoring, etc.)
  • High school diploma (some post-secondary studies preferred)
  • First Aid/CPR Certification preferred
  • Willingness to obtain a Vulnerable Sector Police Check
