Role Summary
Neocon International Inc. is seeking an R&D Engineer to expand our Research & Development team. This role will focus on the development and validation of new raw materials and the creation of innovative new products. The successful candidate will play a key role in advancing Neocon's materials expertise, supporting product innovation, and bridging the gap between research and manufacturing. We are looking for a curious, hands-on engineer who thrives in an experimental, collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Development and validation of new raw materials for automotive applications
- Design, conduct, and oversee laboratory testing of materials and prototypes
- Analyze experimental data and document results in a structured, traceable manner
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to validate prototype materials and processes
- Work with raw material suppliers to develop customized material solutions
- Partner with Marketing to identify opportunities for new products and evaluate material suitability
- Support the development of internal processes, test methods, and laboratory capabilities
- Communicate technical findings clearly to cross-functional stakeholders
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical Engineering preferred)
- Strong experimental design and data analysis skills, along with a mechanical aptitude
- Hands-on experience with prototyping, testing, or laboratory work
- Ability to create clear, structured technical documentation
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for sharing technical findings
Preferred / Nice-to-Have Qualifications
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment
- Experience taking concepts from research through to commercialization
- CAD modeling and/or simulation experience
- Presentation skills for technical and non-technical audiences
- Prior experience working within cross-functional teams (e.g., Manufacturing, Marketing, Suppliers)
What Success Looks Like
Within the first 6–12 months, the successful candidate will:
- Validate one new primary raw material for use in Neocon products
- Develop and implement processes and test methods for Neocon's newly built laboratory
- Establish themselves as a trusted technical problem-solver within the R&D team and broader organization

Location, Work Model & Travel
- Location: 35 Akerley Blvd., Dartmouth, NS, B3B 1J7
- Work Model: On-site, typically Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Travel: Occasional travel, typically 2–6 trips per year to U.S. cities
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $45,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
