OVERVIEW:

As an Intermediate Civil/Structural Designer at Lauren Services, you will play a pivotal role in creating detailed design drawings and models for civil and structural engineering projects. Reporting directly to the Manager of Civil Design, you will utilize drafting software, interpret technical drawings and specifications, and collaborate closely with project engineers to ensure compliance with design requirements. We are seeking an individual who possesses a strong understanding of civil and structural design principles, drafting standards, and codes, along with proficiency in relevant software tools. Attention to detail, accuracy in producing drawings, and effective communication skills are essential for success in this role.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Generating designs and detailed drawings across various disciplines including Civil, Structural Steel, and Architectural.
  • Managing responsibilities such as modeling and drafting foundations and structures, conducting design, and drawing evaluations, estimating quantities, and overseeing material control.
  • Engaging in diverse projects that encompass tasks ranging from preliminary feasibility studies to the finalization of intricate engineering drawings.
  • Resolving design-related issues through communication and coordination.
  • Ensuring compliance with codes, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Staying updated on building codes and design guidelines.
  • Coordinating with engineers to address design requirements and changes.
  • Assisting with structural analysis and calculations.
  • Participating in project meetings and providing technical support.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Engineering Design and Drafting Technology Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in civil and structural design and drafting.
  • Proficiency in drafting software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, CADWorx Structure 2022, Bluebeam, or similar tools.
  • Experience with 3D modeling software is an asset.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to produce accurate and error-free drawings.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with project teams and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
