What would you do? Our Director of Infrastructure is responsible for strategic leadership, operational management, and continuous improvement of Opti9's core infrastructure services. This role oversees two critical teams:
Cloud Team- Responsible for managing hypervisors, virtualization platforms, storage systems, and the underlying infrastructure supporting our cloud offerings
Network Team- Responsible for maintaining and evolving all networking infrastructure, including firewalls, switches, routers, and connectivity solutions across data centers and customer environments
As a senior leader, the Director of Infrastructure ensures the stability, scalability, and security of the company's cloud services, while driving innovation to support growth and customer success.
What are the details?
Leadership & Strategy
Measure the effectiveness of team based on KPIs to ensure infrastructure operations are aligned with company goals
Lead, mentor, and develop team managers and senior engineers within the Cloud and Network teams
Collaborate with executive leadership on technology strategy, budget planning, and investment priorities
Manage projects with team and interface with other teams to ensure infrastructure projects are being executed efficiently and timely to align with SLAs
Infrastructure Operations
Oversee the design, deployment, and lifecycle management of hypervisors, virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V), and SAN/NAS storage systems
Manage the configuration, performance, and security of networking infrastructure, including firewalls, switches, routers, and related technologies
Establish and enforce operational standards, procedures, and best practices for infrastructure services
Ensure high availability, disaster recovery readiness, and capacity planning for infrastructure platforms
Security & Compliance
Work with the Security team to maintain compliance with relevant regulations and industry best practices
Oversee the implementation and maintenance of secure compute, network and storage architectures
Support audits, risk assessments, and remediation activities related to infrastructure services
Service Delivery & Continuous Improvement
Ensure infrastructure services meet or exceed defined SLAs and customer expectations
Drive process automation, monitoring, and operational efficiencies
Evaluate and adopt emerging technologies that enhance infrastructure capabilities
Partner with Onboarding, Sales and Support teams to support new services and client needs
What do you know?
Knowledge and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
10 years of progressive IT infrastructure experience, including at least 5 years in leadership roles
Fundamental understanding of virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V, or similar), networks (switch, firewall, etc.), and enterprise storage systems (SAN, NAS) and data center solutions
Demonstrated experience leading high-performing technical teams in complex environments
Strong financial management skills, including budget planning and cost optimization
Excellent communication, leadership, and decision-making skills
Experience interfacing with vendors for procurement, contract negotiations, and cost optimization
Preferred Experience:
Experience in cloud service provider or managed services environments
Knowledge of automation, orchestration, and infrastructure-as-code practices
Familiarity with compliance frameworks (e.g., SOC 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA)
Advanced degree in a related discipline
Experience with vendor usage reporting such as Broadcom, Microsoft, and similar
This position offers flexible work options that can be performed remotely, or candidates located near one of our offices may choose to work on-site or in a hybrid capacity
