Exi-Plast is a full-service provider of custom plastic molding services located in Huron Park, Ontario. We specialize in blow molded solutions for designers, manufacturers, and distributors worldwide.

Our versatile blow molding facility is backed by more than 25 years of experience in development, production, and finishing of custom plastic products. We provide complete project management for any blow molding needs.

Using state of the art robotic trim and finishing technology, Exi-Plast delivers products that exceed our customer's expectations. In addition to our custom molded work, Exi-Plast develops and manufactures a variety of proprietary branded products that are sold by distributors and retailers throughout North America.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The shift lead will oversee daily company operations and oversee employee performance during shift. They will be overseeing a staff of about 6-10 people in a fast-paced manufacturing setting and will report to the Plant Manager. The Shift Lead will be responsible for motivating staff to accomplish daily goals and for ensuring production is run as efficiently as possible.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assign tasks to the operations team, which includes forklift operators, machine operators, and maintenance staff.
  • Always ensure employees health and safety are the top priority.
  • Monitor employees to make sure tasks are prioritized and completed in a timely fashion.
  • Keep work area clean and organized.
  • Maintain positive work environment by motivating employees and co-workers.
  • Learn basic functioning of equipment.
  • Prepare production to hand off seamlessly to the next shift.
  • Respond calmly and quickly to emergencies and other stressful situations.
  • Keep track of inventory of infeed supply and products.
  • Train new employees in operational of safety procedures.
  • Support our Plant Manager with managing production on a daily basis.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task daily.
  • Mechanically inclined and willing to learn.
  • Effective time management skills.
  • An eagerness to solve problems.
  • Self-motivated, driven personality.
  • Familiarity with basic computer programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.).
