As a Water Projects Engineer reporting to the Team Lead South, you'll provide technical leadership and project oversight from initial planning through to final construction and asset transfer. • Administering and reviewing design and construction activities.
  • Reviewing engineering designs, tender documents, and regulatory permit applications.
  • Conducting site visits to ensure compliance with technical, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Coordinating internal and external input to support design integrity and constructability.
  • Leading construction oversight and contract administration.
  • Monitoring construction progress, participating in inspections, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Addressing contractor claims, public inquiries, and stakeholder concerns.
  • Supporting dispute resolution and final acceptance processes.
  • Contributing to departmental standards and technical leadership.
  • Participating in technical committees and cross-departmental working groups.
  • Incorporating lessons learned to improve future project delivery.
  • Delivering effective project and program management.
  • Managing scope, budget, and timelines from concept to completion.
  • Coordinating non-engineering components such as land acquisition and stakeholder relations.
  • Ensuring accurate reporting and fiscal accountability.

This position requires regular travel throughout southern Alberta—typically between 25-50% of the work schedule. It offers a varied work environment that includes both field and office-based activities, ideal for individuals who enjoy a flexible and hands-on approach to their work.
