Apprentice Carpenter

Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Carpenter Apprentice to join our construction team. This entry-level position offers hands-on experience in various aspects of carpentry and construction projects. The ideal candidate will assist skilled carpenters in building, installing, and repairing structures, gaining valuable skills in woodworking, blueprint reading, and the use of hand and power tools. Duties

• Assist with reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings to understand project requirements.
• Support the installation of cabinetry, flooring, tile laying, siding, roofing, and rebar as needed.
• Participate in concrete forming, masonry work, and restoration projects under supervision.
• Operate hand tools, power tools, CNC machinery, and other equipment safely and effectively.
• Aid in construction painting, caulking, plumbing, electrical work, and general maintenance person tasks to support various trades.
• Help with heavy lifting and material handling to ensure efficient workflow on-site.
• Follow safety protocols at all times to maintain a secure work environment.
• Contribute to project estimation by assisting with measurements and material calculations when required.
• Support assembly tasks for structural components or prefabricated parts as directed by supervisors.

Requirements

• Basic knowledge of construction principles including carpentry, woodworking, masonry, or related fields is preferred.
• Familiarity with blueprint reading, schematics, and construction estimating is a plus.
• Experience with hand tools, power tools, CNC machinery, rebar installation, flooring installation, tile laying, siding installation, roofing, or electrical/plumbing experience is advantageous but not mandatory; training will be provided.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting and work in physically demanding environments.
• Strong attention to detail with excellent safety awareness.
• Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions accurately.
• Prior maintenance person experience or related technical training is beneficial but not required.
• Must be committed to learning new skills and advancing within the construction industry. Job Types: Full-time, Permanent, Casual

Pay: $20.00-$35.00 per hour
