The Financial Analyst will provide support to the FP&A Supervisor in the functions of planning and analysis for the business. This role involves producing top quality work while thinking independently and being proactive in anticipating the needs of various stakeholders. This role involves using a critical eye to identify trends, look for opportunities, provide analysis on key measures and report results compared with forecasts. This role also assists cross-functional teams in providing analytics and business cases to support decision making.



What you'll do
Responsibilities
  • Financial forecasting and analysis
  • Reporting on performance vs forecast
  • Providing support in the preparation of the AFP (annual financial plan)
  • Calculate impacts of inflation on Cost of Sales and Cost of Labour
  • Track CAPEX spending, including impact on forecasts
  • Reviewing and reporting sales to franchisors
  • Preparing target hours reports
  • Invoices and cost of sales review (KFCCAN & KFC US)
  • Updating weekly sales dashboard
  • Preparing closure days report
  • Analyze various expense categories (ie. IT costs, repairs and maintenance, office supplies) and provide regular reports as requested by key users
  • Preparing Outlier report each period end
  • Loading sales and transactions into Vena reporting system
  • Collect info and submit online Stats Canada surveys
  • Other duties and projects as assigned by FP&A Supervisor


What you'll need
Qualifications
  • Post-secondary education in business, finance or accounting
  • Minimum 2 years of accounting/finance experience and a solid knowledge of accounting principles, previous experience in the field of analysis is an asset
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills; accuracy and efficiency are key
  • Advanced knowledge and capabilities in spreadsheets
  • Experience with Sage 300 is considered an asset
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills for interaction with co-workers in multiple departments
