We're on the lookout for a Marine Service Technician to join our Richmond, BC-based team. If you're passionate about electronics, thrive in dynamic environments, and want to work with cutting-edge navigation systems aboard vessels around the world - this is your opportunity.

What You'll Do

  • Install, troubleshoot, and test advanced marine systems - including radar, steering, and control systems - aboard ships and onshore.
  • Lead shipboard installations and support sea trials to ensure optimal performance.
  • Deliver hands-on training to crews and build strong customer relationships.
  • Represent Sperry Marine with pride, promoting our products and services globally.

Work Pattern & Environment: This role is not your typical 9-5. Due to the nature of marine service work, you'll need to be flexible and ready for:

  • Anti-social hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
  • Overnight stays - sometimes at short notice - depending on vessel schedules and service needs.
  • Offshore travel, including launch services up to 100 miles out and boarding via Jacob's ladder.
  • Working at heights (up to 60 feet) or in confined spaces, and exposure to varying weather conditions.

*About You*
A proactive problem solver with a can-do attitude and a strong commitment to delivering excellent customer service to our clients, known for reliability, adaptability, and professionalism.

  • Diploma, degree, or equivalent experience in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or a related technical field - or willingness to train in marine systems
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Ability to learn and assist in troubleshooting marine electronic systems (including PCB-level diagnostics)
  • Basic understanding of technical schematics and blueprints - with training support available
  • Physically able to lift 20-25 kg, work at heights, and in confined spaces
  • Comfortable working aboard ships, offshore platforms, and in varied weather conditions
  • Willing to travel (approx. 30%), work weekends, and respond to short-notice assignments
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
