We are seeking a highly experienced
Senior Azure Data Engineer
to join a major enterprise cloud transformation initiative. This role requires a strong technical professional who is comfortable collaborating with business stakeholders, representing the data engineering team in architecture discussions, and ensuring technical quality across vendors and internal delivery teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop end-to-end
    Azure cloud data solutions
    , including ADF pipelines, Databricks notebooks, Azure SQL, Synapse, and Blob Storage integrations.
  • Lead technical discussions with business teams, solution architects, and senior stakeholders to define data requirements and solution approaches.
  • Represent the engineering team in
    architecture forums
    , ensuring alignment with enterprise cloud and data standards.
  • Manage vendor collaboration, evaluate technical deliverables, and ensure smooth integration into cloud environments.
  • Build, optimize, and troubleshoot complex SQL queries, transformations, and performance-critical workloads.
  • Implement and maintain
    CI/CD pipelines
    using Azure DevOps; contribute to IaC deployments (Terraform experience is an asset).
  • Conduct data validation, quality checks, and root cause analysis for pipeline and ETL/ELT issues.

Required Experience

  • 8+ years
    of experience in Data Engineering.
  • 5+ years
    of hands-on experience with Azure data services (ADF, Azure SQL, Databricks, Synapse, Blob, Key Vault, etc.).
  • Expert-level SQL development and performance tuning.
  • Strong experience working with stakeholders, solution architects, and multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Proven experience in enterprise cloud data migration or modernization programs.
  • CI/CD experience with Azure DevOps; Terraform is a strong plus.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
