What you will do:
Lead the environmental planning process, including the development of environmental assessment reports, facilitation of public information sessions, acquisition of permits, and preparation of cost estimates.
Collaborate with federal, provincial, and local agencies to obtain necessary approvals and ensure environmental compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
Monitor and ensure compliance with environmental permits and conditions during construction and oversee post-construction compliance requirements.
Build and maintain effective working relationships with internal stakeholders and external groups, including government agencies, Indigenous communities, and landowners.
Manage the environmental components of multiple projects concurrently, including oversight of consultants and adherence to project schedules and budgets.
Who you are:
Required:
A degree in an environmental or related field.
Familiarity with environmental assessment methodologies and permitting requirements across Canada.
Minimum 6 years of environmental experience in pipeline, industry, or upstream oil and gas sectors.
Effective written and oral communication skills, focused internally and externally at all levels.
Demonstrate strong environmental technical and/or procedural writing skills.
Prioritize multiple tasks and work both independently and within multidisciplinary teams.
Ability to develop effective, collaborative relationships with colleagues from a variety of subject areas, levels of the organization and across geographic locations.
Preferred
Demonstrate proficiency in the use of computers and Microsoft Office products, primarily the use of word processing, environmental database applications, presentation and spreadsheet software, Encompass experience.
Project management skills with practical experience developing and executing project work plans.
Ability to work in a fast pace setting.
Pipeline industry work experience.
Experience working on large scale construction projects

10% travel to office/field locations

Physical Requirements: Grasping, kneeling, light – moderate lifting (objects up to 20 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, typing, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement and the ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time.
Mental Requirements (Both Field & Office) include but are not limited to: Ability to: understand, remember and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information, understand complex problems and collaborate/explore alternative solutions, organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology, organize and prioritize work schedule on a short-term basis, make decisions which have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impact outside this area, understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines, complete routine forms, compose letters, outlines, memoranda and basic reports and communicate with individuals via telephone.
