BCIT's School of Health Sciences is seeking two (2) regular, part-time (0.2 FTE) Faculty in the Diagnostic Medical Sonography program.

Preference will be given to candidates that are certified in both cardiac and general ultrasound scanning. However, the selection committee will also consider those trained in only one modality: either cardiac or general sonography.

Duties & Responsibilities

The successful candidates will have passion for teaching. This will include instruction, student evaluation, ongoing course development, and clinical site visits. The candidates will work closely with other faculty members and may also be required to travel within BC.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Graduation with a minimum Diploma of Technology in Diagnostic Medical Sonography in the Cardiac Stream, General Stream, or Dual Stream, or Advanced Certificate in Cardiac Sonography.
  • Current relevant sonography experience in general and/or cardiac scanning (minimum 3 years).
  • Previous clinical teaching experience desirable.
  • Actively credentialed in:
  • Cardiac sonography with Sonography Canada and/or ARDMS AND/OR
  • General sonography with Sonography Canada and/or OB/GYN and Abdominal with ARDMS.
  • Proficiency with Windows operating system and Microsoft Office products.
  • Demonstrated ability in organization, time management, initiative, problem solving, communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as a member of a team, as well as independently.
  • Valid BC driver's license and access to a vehicle.

Salary Range

Salary Range: $65,045 - $113,545 per annum.

Additional Salary Information

Salary prorated based on percentage and term of appointment. Salary based on education, experience and placement criteria as outlined in the Collective Agreement.
