Are you an entrepreneurial finance leader ready to build something from the ground up?

MiON Forest
, we are an early-stage climate-tech startup with a massive vision: revolutionizing reforestation using biodegradable pots, soil microbiome activation, and AI-driven drones.

We are looking for a
CFO (Co-Founder capacity)
to join our leadership team. This is not a typical 9-to-5 corporate role, it is an opportunity to own a significant stake in a company that is preparing for rapid growth in 2026.

The Reality & The Opportunity
We believe in radical transparency. We are currently in the early stages. This position is primarily
equity-based
to start, with a modest salary/stipend expected to kick in as we secure our incoming grants and investment rounds in 2026.

We are looking for a partner who is willing to bet on themselves and us. You aren't just an employee; you are a co-architect of our financial future.

The Timeline (Probationary Trial)

  • Start Date:
    January 2026.
  • Format:
    We will begin with a
    1-month probationary trial
    . This allows us both to assess our working chemistry and ensuring we are aligned on mission and strategy before making a long-term commitment.

What You Will Do

  • Secure the Runway:
    Lead our immediate efforts to finalize pending government grants and secure seed investment for 2026.
  • Strategic Structure:
    Build the financial models and internal controls from scratch to prepare us for scale.
  • Investor Relations:
    Act as the primary financial voice to our current and future stakeholders.

Who You Are

  • Entrepreneurial:
    You understand startup life. You are comfortable with risk and motivated by long-term reward (equity).
  • Experienced:
    You have a background in finance/accounting (CPA preferred) and have ideally navigated the early stages of a startup or venture-backed company.
  • Mission-Driven:
    You are passionate about restoring the planet's forests and want your work to leave a legacy.

    Significant
    Co-Founder Level Equity

  • Salary:
    Minimal to start, with a roadmap to increase as we close our 2026 funding rounds (Investment/Grants).
  • Location:
    Hybrid/Hamilton, Ontario (The Forge / McMaster Innovation Park).
