Role Overview
Due to significant growth, they are looking for a Group Retirement Consultant to join their team, located at Yonge and Sheppard in Toronto. The role combines technical knowledge of group retirement plans with client-facing responsibilities, supporting employers in plan design, implementation, benchmarking, and governance.
The ideal candidate shares The Consulting House core values and has a good understanding of the group retirement market combined with previous experience working for an Insurance Carrier or Broker. You will collaborate closely with advisors, account managers, and analysts to ensure exceptional client service and plan outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, record-keepers, and internal teams to deliver integrated solutions.
- Serve as a trusted consultant to clients on group retirement plan design, investment options, implementation, and governance.
- Prepare and present clear, insightful reports including investment reviews and annual plan performance summaries.
- Manage the RFP and vendor selection process, offering recommendations for record-keeper partnerships.
- Actively participate in client meetings and support ongoing plan administration and governance discussions.
- Coordinate and deliver retirement education sessions for clients and their employees, and guide plan members through enrolment and investment selection.
- Contribute to process improvements and share insights that enhance client outcomes and internal workflows.
- Support business development initiatives through cross-selling and prospecting within existing and new client relationships.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives aligned with The Consulting House's core values.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Mathematics, Finance, or a related discipline.
- 10+ years of experience in group retirement or related employee benefits environment.
- Experience in client-facing roles, providing advice and support to plan sponsors.
- Strong knowledge of Capital Accumulation Plans (CAPs), Canadian pension legislation, and group retirement savings plans.
- Strong collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Professional designations such as CFA, CFP, RPA, or CEBS are considered strong assets.
- Group Benefits experience is an asset.
- Bilingual in French is an asset.
