We're hiring Part-time Camp Counsellors at our West location, and we want you to be part of our vibrant team

Reporting to the Aquatics & Sports Supervisor, Camp Counsellors play a critical role in providing a creative and unique, enjoyable experience for camp attendees. This role implements and facilitates the designed programs for their specific camp and ensures that campers enjoy an inclusive experience that leaves a lasting impression.

Please note: Camp Programming occurs during school breaks and P.A. Days, typically between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Deliver the camp program ensuring adequate safety requirements and under the guidance of the Sport & Social Team Supervisor
• Plan and facilitate inclusive camp programs that meet the needs of all participants
• Provide instruction to campers, plan and prepare for all activities related to the camp program established
• Ensure all campers are supervised at all times, and provided a safe and enjoyable experience by adhering to all required safety standards and assisting in emergency procedures as required
• Act as a liaison and resource to parents, participants and leaders while providing exceptional customer service at all times
• Complete other tasks as assigned

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL

• Must have or be working towards a secondary school diploma
• Certification in Standard First Aid & CPR-C required
• 1+ year experience supervising and working with children and youths ages 4-12 is required
• Demonstrated ability to plan, organize and lead activities for large groups of children is required
• Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
• Must be available to work on all/most TDSB PA Days, Winter, Spring & Summer breaks
• Previous experience as a Camp Counsellor and/or teacher is an asset
• Knowledge of and/or working towards HIGH FIVE Principles of Healthy Child Development certification is an asset
• Availability to work during the week outside the TDSB break schedule is an asset
