Zurich Canada is currently looking for Business Systems Analyst (BSA) with experience in Guidewire ClaimCenter to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in analyzing business requirements and translating them into effective solutions within the Guidewire platform. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the enhancement and optimization of our insurance systems while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

This is a Hybrid role.

What you will do

  • Coordinates with business owners to gather requirements through interviews and sessions for projects and enhancements. Monitors decisions and manages documentation.

  • Analyzes requirements to assess systems' potential and impacts on other units. Provides input to development efforts.

  • Creates process models to evaluate the completeness of information and processes.

  • Provides cost/benefit analysis, risk assessments, and scope definitions for proposed requirements.

  • Guides users in building business cases and performs impact analysis. Supports testing, implementation, and training.

  • Leads project tasks affecting multiple business and IT departments.

  • Evaluates project impacts through consultations with various teams.

  • Supports system configuration and integration testing to ensure requirements are met.

  • Manages work plans, timelines, and budgets, prioritizing projects based on feedback and ROI.

  • Performs business process modeling and re-engineering to ensure completeness.

  • Utilizes UML tools to create Use Cases, Class, and Sequence Diagrams.

  • Mentors team members in technology and application delivery.

  • Collaborates with stakeholders to analyze requirements for Guidewire enhancements.

  • Translates business requirements into technical specifications and design documents.

  • Configures, customizes, and tests Guidewire applications to align with business needs.

  • Provides support during system implementations and upgrades.

  • Participates in integration testing, user acceptance testing, and deployment.

  • Troubleshoots issues related to Guidewire applications and stays updated on industry trends.

Job Qualifications - What you bring to the table

Required:

  • Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, or Computer Science or Engineering and 5 or more years of experience in the Information Technology area

OR

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent and 7 or more years of experience in the Information Technology area

AND

  • Process reengineering, e.g. LEAN / Six Sigma, Continuous improvement methodologies

  • Process modeling tools

  • Business Systems Integration

Preferred:

  • Experience in intermediate complex enterprise projects

  • Able to identify and consider business implications of the application of technology to the current business environment

  • General knowledge of financial services industry including knowledge of insurance business processes and processing

  • Must possess in-depth, strong problem-solving analytical skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills needed; ability to tailor approach based upon audience and message

  • Hands on experience with change management tools / methodologies

  • Proficient in using computer-based tools
