Capital Home Hardware Building Centre is looking for a dependable and customer-focused Delivery Driver/Laborer to join our team. This role is key in ensuring our customers receive building materials, hardware and supplies safely and on time. You will also assist with warehouse tasks such as loading, unloading, and moving products, ensuring smooth and efficient operations. This position offers a fantastic opportunity to develop your driving skills, gain warehouse experience, and be part of a motivated team dedicated to excellence.
Duties
- Safely operate box trucks and delivery vehicles to transport goods to designated locations, following planned routes and schedules
- Load and unload products using forklifts, pallet jacks, or manual handling techniques, ensuring proper handling and safety procedures
- Assist with moving items within the warehouse or job sites, including heavy lifting and manual labor tasks
- Provide friendly and professional customer service during deliveries, answering questions and addressing concerns
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation, including logs of deliveries, pickups, and route details
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections to ensure safety standards are met and report any issues promptly
- Support warehouse operations by organizing inventory, stocking supplies, and preparing shipments for delivery
Requirements
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; experience driving box trucks or similar commercial vehicles preferred
- Prior delivery driver experience is highly desirable; familiarity with route driving is a plus
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and manual labor safely and efficiently
- Experience operating forklifts, pallet jacks, or other warehouse equipment is an advantage; certification is preferred but not required
- Strong customer service skills with a positive attitude and professional demeanor
- Knowledge of safety protocols related to driving, lifting, and warehouse operations
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in fast-paced environments
- Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules or route adjustments as needed
