Job Overview

Dandy Oil Products is seeking a qualified and safety-focused Class 1 Fuel Driver to safely transport and delivery Gasoline and Diesel fuels within the greater Edmonton area. This is a local position, with drivers returning home daily. The successful candidate will load product at the Edmonton Suncor Terminal and delivery to customer sites in accordance with company procedures, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.

Safety, professionalism, and attention to detail are critical for this role.

Responsibilities

  • Comply with all applicable legislation and standards, including TDG, Alberta Traffic Safety Act, National Safety Code, Canadian Fuels Association, and Alberta OHS legislation.
  • Complete pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip vehicle inspections and report defects promptly.
  • Follow all company policies, SWPs, and Emergency Response Procedures.
  • Properly use required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Accurately complete delivery tickets, bills of lading, TDG documentation, and HOS.
  • Maintain clear and professional communication with Dispatch, customers, and management.
  • Utilize onboard technology (Samsara, AWE, etc.) in accordance with company policy.
  • Maintain a clean and professional appearance of assigned equipment.
  • Conduct basic care of hoses, fittings, cabinets, and spill response equipment.
  • Ensure spill kits, fire extinguishers, and emergency equipment are present and serviceable.

Experience

  • Valid Alberta Class 1 Driver's Licence with acceptable Commercial Driver Abstract.
  • Minimum 2 years commercial driving experience preferred (fuel hauling experience an asset).
  • Strong knowledge of safe driving practices, especially in urban traffic and winter conditions.
  • Physically capable of handling fuel hoses, climbing steps/ladders, and working outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and compliance.
  • Proven experience in truck driving, particularly with commercial vehicles such as tractor-trailers, tanker trucks, flatbeds, or refrigerated trailers.
  • Skills in operating manual transmission vehicles are required.
