THE OPPORTUNITY:

We are currently recruiting for a two casual custodians for the Gary Moe Auto Group Sportsplex (Arena). The key responsibilities include maintaining the overall cleanliness and appearance of the facility in accordance with established standards; providing customer service by providing assistance to the public/user groups; answering inquiries and/or directing them to the appropriate person or area, assisting in maintaining the ice surfaces, monitoring the pool and performing preventive maintenance and other related duties as assigned. Additional duties include securing the buildings in accordance with existing policies and procedures, ensuring walkways are clear of snow and debris, and a variety of other tasks. This position works a variety of shifts and days, primarily evening and weekends.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Facility Maintenance:

  • Maintain cleanliness and appearance of the facility.
  • Assist in maintaining ice surfaces and monitoring the pool.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and other assigned duties.

Customer Service:

  • Aid the public and user groups.
  • Answer inquiries or direct individuals to appropriate personnel.

Safety & Security:

  • Secure buildings per policy.
  • Ensure walkways are clear of snow and debris

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • First Aid certification
  • WHMIS
  • Ability to work evenings/nights and weekends (i.e. Saturday 7PM – 3AM)
  • Physical ability to perform custodial duties
  • Strong communication skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Pool Operator 1 and Arena Operator 1 certification is an asset
  • Previous custodial/janitorial experience

Salary Range: $ $23.64 per hour and 4% vacation pay (depending upon experience)
