As Commercial Counsel you will help build and scale our legal operations, working cross-functionally with business partners to provide practical and commercially-focused legal advice and support the company's growth. In addition to drafting and negotiating agreements, you will work on legal projects and issues relating to strategic partnerships, complex data privacy and security questions, and operationalizing legal processes.

The right candidate must be a self-starter who can operate independently and learns quickly while juggling competing priorities in a startup environment. You should have excellent business judgment and communication skills, and directly to our Sr. Corporate Counsel, playing an integral role in driving the legal support function within Narvar on a day-to-day basis. SaaS experience is a must and e-commerce experience is preferred.

Note: We are targeting Pacific and/ or Mountain Time zones.

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft and negotiate commercial agreements with vendors and customers, often managing 10+ requests simultaneously.
  • Serve as the first line of support for sales and marketing teams.
  • Act as a bridge across functions to resolve a wide range of legal issues, focusing on balancing risk and business opportunity.
  • Contribute to building and maintaining Law Department know-how, templates, and processes.
  • Support executive-level agreements, including those with channel partners and strategic partners.
  • Assist with or lead projects in privacy, information security, compliance, and other regulatory matters.

What We're Looking For

  • JD with active membership in at least one state bar association.
  • 5+ years of legal experience in a law firm and/or in-house environment.
  • Strong background in B2B SaaS contracts (required); e-commerce or retail experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with U.S. state and/or EU data privacy laws, and experience with data processing agreements, is a plus.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to simplify complex issues and deliver practical, results-oriented advice.
  • Creative and strategic thinker with a process-improvement mindset.
  • Proven ability to build trust across business teams and operate effectively in a high-growth, international environment.
  • Highly organized, decisive, and comfortable working under tight deadlines.

Below is the estimated annual salary for this position and does not include the other components that make up a Narvar offer including: annual bonus, equity, and benefits.

The range reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across the US. Within the range, individual compensation packages are based on factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to, skill set, education and certifications, and work location.

Narvar Pay Range

$130,000—$170,000 USD
