  • CFP designation or be working towards obtaining it

  • 3 to 5 years' financial planning experience 

  • Experience with Financial Planning software

  • Knowledge of the financial issues for small businesses

  • Advanced taxation knowledge 

  • Organizational excellence, time management and both internal and external communication skills

  • Strong financial and analytical skills

  • Strong technical computer aptitude and knowledge of business tools (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

We are excited to expand our team by adding a Financial Planner.  Often referred to in the financial services industry as a Financial Paraplanner, this role is responsible to deliver value to the team and the clientele by coordinating and preparing quality financial planning reports and strategies.  

The role is office-based, but some level of hybrid flexibility could be considered.

What you will be doing

  • In collaboration with advisory team, develop comprehensive financial strategies, reports and presentation packages for clients and new prospects that align with risk tolerance, financial planning goals and retirement objectives

  • Utilize financial software applications to input data, analyze and recommend strategies

  • Understand and interpret financial data

  • Communicate/collect information from clients (fact finding)

  • Clarify client financial status and identify problem areas and opportunities

  • Compare different financial planning modelling scenarios for clients    

  • Read and understand client reports, investment statements and financial information to identify the relevant information

  • Present financial plan with Advisor when requested

  • Easily explain issues and concepts related to the overall financial planning process, both verbally and by creating synthesized reports of key data from the financial plans

  • Monitor clients' financial situations with detail and accuracy

  • Maintain integrity of sensitive/confidential information 

  • Monitor financial planning and economic changes to effectively adapt planning recommendations 

  • Proactively learn about investment and insurance products that can be suitable for client situations

Connect directly with clients for implementation of ongoing strategies when requested
