Position Description & Qualifications

The Marketing Specialist will lead marketing efforts for an assigned employment services catchment area for the EmployNext powered by Serco brand. This role is responsible for developing and executing an integrated marketing plan that drives awareness, engagement, and participation in local employment programs. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who thrives in an independent environment, demonstrates strong strategic thinking, and is motivated to deliver measurable results. They are also highly motivated, resourceful, and enthusiastic about growing their experience in a multifaceted role.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and Own Marketing Strategy: Create a comprehensive strategic marketing plan for the catchment area, incorporating traditional advertising, social media, events, and community outreach.
  • Execute Integrated Campaigns: Manage end-to-end execution of marketing initiatives, including working directly with vendors, internal teams, and extensive network of employment service providers and community partners.
  • Content Development: Oversee creation of marketing materials, including digital assets, social media, print collateral, blogs, guides, and event promotions.
  • Performance Tracking: Monitor and report on project effectiveness, adjusting strategies to optimize results.
  • Budget Management: Manage marketing budgets for assigned region, ensuring cost-effective execution.
  • Collaborate Across Teams: Partner with Community Outreach Managers and Employer Engagement Specialists to align marketing efforts with program goals.
  • Demographic Market Research and Strategy Development: Research population demographics, socioeconomic factors, and community trends within the catchment area to inform and tailor marketing strategies.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Degree or diploma in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field from a competitive program.
  • Experience: 2–4 years of marketing experience, preferably in integrated campaigns or regional marketing
  • Planning: Strong planning and organizational skills with ability to work independently, manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Platforms: Proficiency in social media platforms, digital marketing tools, and Canva,
  • Interpersonal: Excellent communication, collaboration and relationship-building skills.

  • Ensure compliance with all regulations, policies and procedures pertaining to the operations including occupational health and safety, environmental, and quality.
  • Responsible for the safety of all personnel, equipment, and facilities under the scope of this position, in accordance with Provincial, Federal, Serco and customer safety regulations and procedures.
