Azure Systems Engineer (Québec-based)

Location: Remote (Québec, Canada resident required)

Contract

We are seeking a skilled and self-driven
Azure Systems Engineer
who will be involved in deploying, migrating, and integrating customer systems with Azure, while optimizing performance and automating tasks to reduce manual intervention.

Responsibilities:

  • Deploy, migrate, and integrate customer systems with Microsoft Azure.
  • Create and maintain custom scripts and automations to improve system efficiency.
  • Perform performance tuning, upgrades, and resource optimization.
  • Provide remote support via Help Desk, phone, and email, adhering to SLA guidelines.
  • Collaborate with consultants and client staff to support and scale infrastructure.
  • Assist in root cause analysis and resolution of system failures.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in an Azure-focused role.
  • 5+ years of experience in Windows/Linux system administration, storage, and networking.
  • Must reside in
    Québec, Canada
    and be fluent in
    English
    .

Technical Skills:

  • Azure platform expertise.
  • Advanced knowledge of Windows and/or Linux OS architecture and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V).
  • Strong understanding of networking: DHCP, DNS, IP routing, VLANs, Layer 2/3, load balancing.
  • Configuration experience with routers, switches, VPNs (point-to-point, DMVPN).
  • Storage configuration and management.
  • Scripting: PowerShell, Bash, Python, Terraform (JSON), Git.
  • Cloud security, access controls, monitoring, and server hardening.
