Our Client, located in Richmond Hill, is a public accounting firm that provides Audit & Accounting, Tax, Advisory, and Bookkeeping services to owner-managed businesses and Not-For-Profit organizations. We provide a one-stop-shop accounting and tax solutions with a hands-on approach.

We are currently looking to add a technologically inclined and entrepreneurial Accountant with a strong work ethic with a passion for excellence who is looking to grow his/her career.  You will be involved in all accounting work (compilations, reviews, tax, audit, advisory).  As #4 in the company, you will report to the Partners and have opportunity to grow into a leadership role at the firm.  You'll work with a mix of clients across different industries such as manufacturing, real estate, education, financial services, and tech start-ups.

This is a full-time, permanent role.

Your Responsibilities (but not limited to):
Complete compilation engagementsComplete audit and review engagements for both for-profit and not-for-profit entitiesManage a teamPrepare personal, corporate tax, and GST/HST returnsPrepare payroll and government-related remittances and filings including, but not limited to T4's and T5'sCorrespond with the Canada Revenue Agency regarding client mattersRequirements:
Experience working in a Canadian public accounting firmExpert level in QBO and QBDStrong Canadian accounting knowledge, especially with ASPE and ASNPOExperience using accounting and tax software such as TaxPrep, TaxCycle or Profile, Caseware and Caseview, TaxPrep Forms, Quickbooks, Microsoft OfficeLive in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) and legally able to work full-time for any Canadian employer  

Ideal candidate:
CPA (Canada)5+ years experience:
  • working in a Canadian CPA firm
  • completing compilation engagements, personal, corporate tax returns
  • completing audit and review engagements (for-profit & not-for-profit entities)
  • using Caseware, Caseview, TaxPrep and Quickbooks
  • Entrepreneurial mindset
  • Ownership mentality - see things through to the end
  • Strong communicator - manage timelines, issues, be a face to the client
  • Strong leader – able to effectively manage a team
