Health Care Aide (English speaking in Airdrie, SW )

Duties:

  • Provide personal care and assistance to patients in their homes, nursing homes, or hospice care settings
  • Assist with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
  • Administer medications as directed by healthcare professionals
  • Monitor and record vital signs, such as blood pressure and temperature
  • Assist with mobility and transfers, including heavy lifting when necessary
  • Provide emotional support and companionship to patients
  • Follow care plans and ensure the safety and well-being of patients
  • Help with meal preparation and feeding, as needed

Skills:

  • Experience in providing home care, nursing home, dementia care, senior care, or hospice care is preferred
  • Knowledge of patient care techniques and procedures
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals
  • Compassionate and empathetic nature
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
  • Physical stamina to perform tasks that may require heavy lifting or prolonged standing
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks
