Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech Language Pathologist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in providing high-quality patient care, particularly in acute care settings. This role involves assessing, diagnosing, and treating speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders in patients of all ages, with a focus on both pediatric and adult populations. The Speech Language Pathologist will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop effective treatment plans and support overall patient recovery.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' speech, language, and swallowing abilities.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment results and patient needs.
  • Implement therapeutic interventions to improve communication skills and swallowing function.
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary to achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care.
  • Educate patients and their families about speech-language pathology services and strategies for improvement.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of patient evaluations, treatment plans, and progress notes in compliance with medical standards.
  • Stay current with advancements in speech-language pathology practices and participate in ongoing professional development.

Experience

  • Previous hospital experience is preferred, particularly in acute care settings.
  • Familiarity with case management processes is a plus.
  • Experience working with pediatric populations is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology relevant to speech-language pathology.
  • Proven ability to provide compassionate patient care while maintaining professionalism in a fast-paced environment.
