Outbound Sales & Cold Calling (Core Responsibility)

  • Conduct proactive outbound calls and emails to:
  • New prospective customers
  • Lapsed or inactive Nitro accounts
  • Target accounts aligned with Nitro's core industries (construction, waste, infrastructure, OEMs)
  • Introduce Nitro's product offerings, capabilities, and value proposition
  • Qualify leads and identify customer needs
  • Generate quotes, samples, or trial orders
  • Set meetings or hand off qualified opportunities to external sales reps when appropriate
  • Track outreach activity, outcomes, and follow-ups in Nitro's systems

Internal Sales & Account Development

  • Support existing customers with pricing, quotes, and order follow-ups
  • Proactively upsell and cross-sell hoses, fittings, assemblies, and consumables
  • Build familiarity with customer buying patterns and suggest replenishment opportunities
  • Support OEM, VMI, and contract customers as required

Order Desk & Customer Service

  • Process incoming orders via phone, email, counter, and internal systems
  • Ensure accurate order entry, pricing, part numbers, and delivery instructions
  • Coordinate with warehouse and hose shop teams to ensure timely fulfillment
  • Manage backorders, substitutions, credits, and returns
  • Provide customers with order status updates and lead times

Counter & Walk-In Support

  • Assist walk-in customers professionally and efficiently
  • Answer basic technical questions related to hoses, fittings, and accessories
  • Work closely with the hose shop for while-you-wait and same-day orders

Administrative & Sales Support

  • Maintain accurate customer and pricing records
  • Assist with CRM / ERP updates related to sales activity
  • Support sales reporting, lead tracking, and follow-up schedules
  • Collaborate with purchasing, warehouse, and management teams

Qualifications & Experience

  • 2+ years in internal sales, outbound sales, order desk, or industrial customer service
  • Demonstrated comfort with cold calling and outbound sales activity
  • Experience in industrial distribution, hydraulics, MRO, construction, or manufacturing is a strong asset
  • Strong phone presence and communication skills
  • Comfortable working in ERP / CRM systems
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
