I. Job Summary

The Chief Investment Officer (CIO) is the highest-ranking person responsible for the company's overall investment strategy and capital allocation. They are responsible for formulating and implementing investment policies, optimizing portfolio performance, and ensuring long-term returns and capital growth while maintaining manageable risk.

This position combines strategic vision, risk control, market acumen, and capital management capabilities, playing a core decision-making role in corporate governance.

In financial, crypto, or multi-asset institutions, the CIO is both the portfolio designer and the market trend analyst, as well as the manager of capital efficiency.

II. Key Responsibilities

  1. Investment Strategy and Policy Formulation

Formulate the company's overall investment strategy, clarifying asset allocation principles, target returns, risk tolerance, and liquidity standards;

Recommend annual investment plans and long-term capital plans to the Board of Directors;

Establish a scientific, transparent, and measurable investment governance system and decision-making framework;

Promote emerging investment directions such as ESG, sustainable finance, and digital assets.

  1. Portfolio Management and Performance Monitoring

Manage a cross-asset class investment portfolio (e.g., stocks, bonds, private equity, real estate, digital assets, funds, venture capital, etc.);

Optimize asset allocation structure to achieve the optimal balance between returns and risks;

Monitor the investment performance, risk management, and compliance of internal and external investment teams (or fund managers);

Regularly review portfolio returns and report to the Board of Directors.

  1. Market Insights and Research

Monitor global macroeconomic trends, market trends, and policy changes;

Guide the research department in analyzing investment opportunities and risks (including traditional and digital markets);

Explore emerging markets and innovative asset classes (such as blockchain infrastructure, DeFi protocols, tokenized assets, AI-driven funds, etc.);

Build and maintain institutional-grade research frameworks and decision-making models.

  1. Risk and Compliance Management

Establish and implement an investment risk management system (including credit, market, liquidity, and operational risks);

Ensure all investment activities comply with relevant regulations and internal compliance policies;

Conduct regular stress tests and scenario analyses to identify potential risk exposures in advance;

Work with the legal and compliance departments to maintain transparent investment governance standards.

  1. Capital Operations and Strategic Investments

Identify and execute strategic investment and M&A opportunities to enhance the company's long-term competitiveness;

Participate in strategic projects such as capital raising, debt restructuring, or IPO preparation;

Promote collaborations with external financial institutions, funds, sovereign wealth funds, or crypto platforms;

Oversee strategic funds, joint ventures, or venture capital departments.

  1. Team Leadership and Organizational Development

Lead the investment, research, trading, risk, and analysis teams;

Establish an investment culture driven by performance, transparency, and innovation;

Develop the next generation of investment leaders and professional analysts;

Enhance the organization's brand and influence in the global capital markets.

III. Qualifications

Education Background

Master's degree or above in finance, economics, mathematics, business administration, or a related field;

CFA, CAIA, or equivalent professional certification preferred;

MBA/EMBA or PhD preferred.

Work Experience

15+ years of investment management experience, including at least 5 years as Chief Investment Officer, Deputy CIO, or equivalent leadership;

Managed billions of dollars in assets at asset management firms, family offices, sovereign wealth funds, banks, insurance companies, or crypto asset institutions;

Familiar with global capital markets, alternative investments, and digital assets (such as blockchain, DeFi, tokenized securities, etc.).

Skills and Traits

Exceptional macro-level vision and asset allocation capabilities;

Outstanding risk control and compliance awareness;

Excellent cross-departmental coordination and communication skills, capable of influencing board-level decisions;

Data-driven, logically rigorous, and with strong execution capabilities;

Possesses innovative thinking and can balance traditional and emerging investment models.
