Accounting Technician

Position Summary

The Accounting Technician will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial record-keeping and smooth accounting operations for a group of busy radiology clinics. This position is responsible for supporting the Finance team with day-to-day bookkeeping, reconciliations and financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, proficiency with accounting software and the ability to work effectively in a healthcare environment that balances patient care with business operations.

Key Responsibilities

· Maintain accurate general ledger entries and ensure timely posting of transactions

· Process accounts payable, including verifying invoices, coding expenses and preparing payments

· Process accounts receivable, including posting payments from government agencies, insurance providers, patients and other third parties

· Perform daily, weekly and monthly bank and account reconciliations

· Assist in preparing month-end and year-end financial reports

· Maintain records of capital assets and depreciation schedules

· Support payroll preparation by compiling and verifying time and attendance data

· Assist with budget preparation, variance analysis and financial forecasts

· Ensure compliance with clinic policies, accounting standards and healthcare regulatory requirements

· Provide support during financial audits and respond to auditor requests

· Collaborate with clinic managers, radiologists and administrative staff to resolve accounting inquiries

Qualifications

· Diploma or certificate in Accounting, Finance or related discipline; working toward CPA designation is an asset

· Minimum 2–3 years of experience in an accounting or bookkeeping role, preferably in healthcare or a clinic environment

· Strong proficiency in accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks or equivalent) and MS Excel.

· Knowledge of healthcare billing systems and third-party payor processes is an asset

· High attention to detail, accuracy and organizational skills

· Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work in a team-oriented clinical environment

· Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
