Opportunity available on a on a a cow calf operation NW of Olds for a candidate with experience with cattle and equipment.
A variety of responsibilities from livestock handling, calving, processing, herd health, feeding, general maintenance, fencing, field work, haying, cultivating, to various duties in the daily routines of a farming - ranching operation.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a farming or ranching environment
- Knowledge of animal husbandry and livestock care techniques
- Strong mechanical knowledge and experience with farm machinery
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and physically demanding tasks
- Valid driver's license and ability to operate farm vehicles
- Working in a team environment along with being able to work independently are key attributes.
Summary
As a Farmer - Cattle Hand - Rancher, you will be managing livestock and ensuring the overall health and productivity. Your role involves utilizing your agricultural knowledge and expertise to demonstrate strong skills in animal husbandry, while also leveraging your relevant skills to enhance operational efficiency. Join our team and contribute to sustainable farming practices while fostering a thriving agricultural environment.
Job Types: Full-time, Temporary, Permanent
Contract length: 7 months
Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 48 – 56 per week
Experience:
- Farm machinery: 3 years (required)
- Fencing: 3 years (required)
- Cattle: 3 years (required)
Licence/Certification:
- Class 5 Licence (required)
