Electro-Mechanical Assembler

PPI is seeking a skilled and motivated technician to join the production team, with experience in both precision mechanical and electronics assembly tasks.
Duties / Tasks
- Assemble and test mechanical, electrical, and electronic components and assemblies.
- Demonstrate manual dexterity in precision assembly of mechanical components and assemblies.
- Understand electrical, electronic, and mechanical drawings and related documents necessary for electromechanical component and assembly inspection, build, and test.
- Able to use electrical schematics, procedures, engineering drawings, and follow written/verbal instructions, including test procedures.
- Interpret and follow wire harness and connector assembly instructions, schematics, and manufacturing drawings.
- Use basic hand tools, cutters, wire strippers, soldering irons and heat guns for wire harness assembly. Set up and use wire cutting and crimping equipment.
- Assemble and wire electrical control panels.
- Solder SMT and through-hole components in circuit boards and inspect them.
- Perform quality checks on parts and assembled / completed items to verify specifications and integrity of overall systems.
- Pick kit components from stock and enter work-order transactions in the company ERP system.
- Be receptive to mentoring. Participate in developing new approaches and techniques to achieve continuous improvement in all work processes.
- Perform as a member of a technical team utilizing effective communication skills.
- Plan, set priorities and see projects through to completion.
- Work independently and take initiative.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience, hands-on in a production environment.
- Demonstrated understanding and compliance with applicable workmanship standards.
- Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.
- Understanding of elementary problem-solving techniques required.
- Experience with using ERP systems is an asset.
- Canadian citizenship is required.
