Role Description

This is a full-time Process Engineer-In-Training role located in Sudbury, ON or Oakville, ON, with some flexibility for remote work.

The Process Engineer-In-Training will support a wide range of technical and project activities including:

  • Process design, modeling, and control
  • Supporting chemical and process engineering projects
  • Designing and supervising laboratory test work for material characterization and backfill performance evaluation
  • Performing data analysis and preparing technical reports
  • Assisting in the design and execution of mine backfill process studies, ensuring alignment with project goals and regulatory standards
  • Developing and updating process flow diagrams (PFDs) to support engineering and project deliverables
  • Conducting mass balance calculations and developing design criteria
  • Contributing to QA/QC and troubleshooting during project execution
  • Identifying opportunities for process improvement and contribute to the development of best practices
  • Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, including mechanical, electrical, structural, and laboratory groups, to ensure efficient and cost-effective project delivery

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related field
  • Skills in Process Design and Process Control
  • Strong Analytical Skills for data interpretation, mass balance calculations, and technical assessments
  • Experience with laboratory test work planning, execution, and management
  • Ability to prepare high-quality technical reports and present results effectively
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work independently and remotely as required
  • Willingness and ability to travel to operating sites as needed
  • Relevant experience in the mining and mineral processing sectors is an asset
  • Proficiency with process simulation tools (SysCAD) is an asset
