The Finance Clerk is a detail-oriented individual who plays a supportive role within Manitobah's Finance department. Reporting to the Finance Controller, the successful candidate will require basic computer skills to perform data entry and process returns transactions. The incumbent will be initiative-taking, able to work in a fast-paced environment while collaborating effectively with colleagues.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

This position involves supporting the Finance team with returns and reconciliations. communication, department expense tracking, and posting journal entries.

  • Assist in processing returns transactions
  • Sort, code and match invoices and receipts to orders, returns, and refunds
  • Administer claims, refunds, adjustments, exchanges, and other transactions data
  • Problem solving by performing research and resolving discrepancies and issues that arise
  • Respond in a timely manner to email, phone, and mail correspondence
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams on returns and reconciliations
  • Request information and documentation from vendors and ensure all incoming documents are in good order
  • Maintain, run and analyze monthly and ad hoc reports as required
  • Record and reconcile transactions, verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances
  • Attends and participates in staff meetings and training sessions
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Professional Experience:

  • Minimum 1 year of experience working within an accounting or finance department is required
  • Minimum 1 year of experience with bookkeeping software is required; QuickBooks experience is preferred

Educational Requirements:

  • Completion of post secondary certificate or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or Business is required
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered

Working Conditions

  • Work in an office environment. May require long periods at a desk, reading lengthy documents, and time in front of a computer.
  • The incumbent will be required to work at our Headquarters office at 25 Forks Market Road in Winnipeg, MB.

Job Types: Part-time, Fixed term contract

Contract length: 12 months
