Stars Orthodontics is a speciality orthodontic practice located in Downtown Ottawa. Our growing practice is looking for an energetic, positive, and dependable Level II dental assistant to join our team on a full-time basis.

Orthodontic experience is not required. The successful candidate will be provided with adequate orthodontic training to excel and enjoy working within an orthodontic practice.

Benefits of this Position include:

-You won't be asked to work evenings. Regular work-shifts are 8:00 am to 4:30 pm

-You won'y have to work on Weekends typically

Duties include:

  • Assist the Orthodontist during various procedures

-Perform various dental assisting tasks including taking impressions, digital I Tero scans, taking radiographs (Panorex and Cephalogram only).

- Assist with sterilizing dental instruments (a dedicated Sterilization tech is present).

- Record patient information and maintain accurate dental records

- Document dental visits in our software. Provide patients with oral hygiene, dietary, and appliances instructions

- Perform basic laboratory tasks, such as pouring impressions

-Other clinical duties that are inline with the level II scope of practice.

Requirements:

- Completion of an Ontario-accredited dental assisting program

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
